Ethiopia Outreach Summer ’16

 

King’s Kids Minnesota partnered with Lakeside Church (Cambridge, MN) in July for a joint outreach to the country of Ethiopia. Located on the eastern side of Africa, Ethiopia is the continent’s oldest nation, and has some of the most ancient Christian roots in the world. Currently, the nation is experiencing a significant growth in Islam, with the Christian population decreasing proportionally. Our team had the opportunity to partner with teams from YWAM Australia and YWAM Germany as we worked in the capitol city of Addis Ababa for two and a half weeks.

We joined with ministry that the Lord is already doing through other missions organizations around the city, and we were able to work with children, youth, and families in various ways. Our ministry took us around the city, and we worked in a variety of settings, from churches to impoverished neighborhoods. We participated in a number of projects ranging from food distribution in the slums to coordinating a Vacation Bible School for local students. We were blessed to reconnect with some acquaintances from our previous outreach in Ethiopia, and enjoyed the privilege of meeting many new Ethiopian friends! The country of Ethiopia is beautiful, and we experienced God’s heart for that nation as we served His children there this summer!
